CdF Activities (JCH report) - Madcap runs on Ixia (CEA/Grenoble) thanks to AA, we are trying it with various realistic simulations of archeops data. - Map Making (AA, Ken Ganga, JCH) : * comparison of Madcap outputs with Olivier Dore's MapCumba (slightly modified by JCH to improve convergence) -> similar maps for both, but still rather striped. We are investigating to identify the problem ... * New Map Making program by Ken - to be tested soon ... - Power spectrum estimation : * MadCap (AA): the program is running, but there are still problems with the batch running, this part of the program demands an enormous amount of CPU time, even with 32 processors and small maps (19000 pix). The most striking problem at the moment is the cholesky inversion of the matrices that fails very often. This is tested on the Trapani clean data. More news soon ... * Hivon's method (JCH): Trying to implement it for Archeops. It rely on a lot of simulations and the Cls are easily computed with Anafast. For the moment : problems with the mode-mode coupling matrix which has to be somehow inverted but is rather singular ... More news soon ... * Estimations of the Cl errors bars with the Kiruna sensitivity, beams and sky coverage by Marian Douspis and AA. Both estimations agree to a rather deceiving result. It will be hard to go beyond the first doppler peak (except if the estimated sensitivity is wrong ...) - Low Frequency decorrelation (following a work in Grenoble by AA, KM , FXD and AB) * Trying to determine the shape of the template of the parasitic signal by aligning the 545GHz signal with that of the pivot and removing the galactic signal. The resulting shape has a large dispersion * Deconvolution of the 10K's time response (RC filter). This seems to reduce the residuals compared to a straight fit. - JCV : Study of a device in order to measure the effects induced by the telescope on the polarization : - Polarizer support in front of the focal plane - Gunn diode support - Polarization Analysis (JK, CR) Trying to make Q and U maps for the three polarized horns by applying a shift in time in the TOI's in order to superimpose the beams on the sky. IAP report - Cl analysis with anafast: see note in CVS Archeops/Doc_source/Note/Kiruna_flight_20010129/Cl_quick1.txt - Implement map making with time filtered TOI (OD and FB). This is an inverse problem that has a formal solution very similar to what is used for direct map-making. Implementation has shown some promising results.
